GOOD MORNING GREENWAY(AND RICHINS) FAMILY!!! Ok enough of that. Just a few things going on out here in Idaho. Kyle is loving his job and racked up a whole $128 commission in 2 weeks. That's $1,280 +/- in sales. Andrew and I are having allergy issues. I think it is the alfalfa mom. They are starting to harvest the wheat and alfalfa and neither Andrew or I can breath through our noses. Gavin is so smart it walked into Kyle the other day and said "DAD!! 9+1 is 10!!". I guess I'm gonna hafta watch that one...he's quiiick. On the rough side we had our car vandalized sometime Sunday night. We went to church and all was well. Kyle went to work Monday and the windshield was cracked. I'm a little worried to drive it down to Utah. It's going to cost us either $300 out right or $500 deductible. Grrrrr. And just after we finished getting everything ready for the trip. Changed our brakes and fluids and then this happens. DO'H!! Also I am wondering if ya'll want me to just post on here or should I continue on my other page...I'm not sure any of you read that one. Let me know. We love all of you. Travel safely and we'll see some of you soon.

Zoo Adventures!!

Ty took the day of on Tuesday and we decided to go to the Zoo in Washington D.C. We got there after lunch and rode the Metro into the city.

We then spent the afternoon enjoying the zoo. Really!! It was a beautiful day. It was a little warm, but there was a nice breeze. The zoo had "misters" that you could walk under and get a little damp and then you really cooled off. The only time Isaac "freaked" was at the gorilla house. I don't know if it was the big silverback gorilla that suddenly started walking towards him or the stampede of people heading towards the gorilla, but Isaac decided that he didn't like the gorillas anymore!

Isaac's head was really stuck in the dinosaurs mouth. He didn't realize it until he tried to get out. I thought it was hysterical. Him, not so funny.

On the way home, we had to stop twice along the side of the road to let Isaac go potty (I guess we kept him well hydrated) and then we went to IHOP for dinner. We had a great day!

Indonesian is Fun!

Selamat Melam! Apa Kabar? Anda Bapak dan saya punya berusaha diajar Indonesian. Kami senang. Diajar baru ayat tolong saya untuk rendah hati. Saya amat lambat!!! Tetapi kami adalah kesabaran. Nama gereja adalah Gereja Jesus Kristus Orang-orang Suci Zaman Akir.
(translation)
Good Evening! How are you? Your Father and I have been trying to learn Indonesian. We are glad. Learning new words helps me to be humble. I am very slow!!! But we are patient. The name of the church is .... literally it means the Church of Jesus Christ of Persons who are Purified in the End Days. It's a good way to stay obedient if you want to be classified as a "purified person".
We have found out (almost for sure) that we will not be in Jakarta. Pres. Groberg would like us to go to Central Java so that we can do Member Support along with our ERS (employment resource services) assignment. They are working hard to be able to create a Stake in two years. I received the Music Services CD in the mail last week, and then we also got the training materials for Perpetual Education Fund. We will also be administrating that. While we are in the MTC they want us to go to the Church Offices to get further training. I am positive we will not get bored.
September is almost upon us. We are very anxious to get going. However, we have much yet to do here so off I go to bed. We start early!
I cannot begin to tell you how much we love all of you, and how grateful we are for your support!
We think of each of you and pray for you all every day!
Bersyukur terkasih kekal keluarga,
Mom & Dad

Hiking Adventure

Yesterday we decided that Saturday is a special day, it is the day that we hike 2 miles up into Adam's Canyon and see the 40 foot waterfall.

The hike is described as medium difficulty, with shades of death at the front end and right before the waterfall. We thought that they were just kidding. The first Quarter of a mile was sttep switchbacks up into the canyon. Not so bad, unless you add the scorching 98 degree sun coupled with sand and no shade. The rattlesnakes were taunting us.

The kids wanted to give up, but with much persuasion, which included bribery (shaved ices afterwards), the troops made it into the canyon and shade.

They were very happy for the trees. In fact, this above represented outpouring of affection, was completely spontaneous and unscripted. They were very grateful for the shade and the cool breeze that wafted down the canyon.

The middle section was actually pretty nice. Rolling trails and few obstacles. The closer we got to the waterfall, however, the steeper and more difficult the terrain became. Cecily got her first taste of Indiana Jones style hiking as we dangled over a rushing torrent. Ok, so we had to slide across some rocks while the creek gurgled past below. It was a fierce gurlge though.

SO, we made it to the top and the view, and refreshing mist, was well worth the effort. Our little tempterature sensative child, Cecily, was "not quite so sure" about the cold mist coming from the waterfall, so Nate, Eli, and I decided to show her how fun mountain waterfalls could be. Apparently it was more than she could bear to watch. One, should note that she has set herself up quite nicely with all of the snacks. She is actually snacking under her shirt. It protects her from the harmful rays of the sun, the chilly mist, and from having to see Dad without his shirt on.

All in all, the hike was a sucess! Victory achieved, slushies eaten, hearts warmed, tears shed, memories forever ingrained. And the view isn't half bad either!!!

Well, we were then we weren't?

Hi everyone! Well, last week we met with the Thompsons, the couple we will be replacing in Indonesia! They have a son that lives in Harrisburg. We learned some very interesting things among which was the fact that we would be living in a very lovely apartment with a grocery store in the basement. Plus, we would have a car and driver who would also serve as our interpreter. Plus, since our home base would be Jakarta, with our office in the same building as the Mission offices and the Mission Home, we would be scooting all over Indonesia by plane as we did the work of ERS (Employment Resource Services). You may think this was very exciting, however the role of Elder Greenway was well defined while the role of Sister Greenway was somewhat cloudy with a chance of rain. So, she did what she always does and took it to the Lord.... (that always makes Elder Greenway nervous). Now, Elder Greenway had a few questions following our visit in Harrisburg, (ie. how do we buy a car, can we get our prescriptions filled there, would we be living where the Tompsons had lived, etc.) so he emailed President Groberg, and wahlah!
He thinks there are enough senior couples right in Jakarta, so he thinks he will put us in Surakarta or East Java where there is greater need, and change our assignment somewhat to include more Member Support. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, we guess what we are saying is... stay tuned.
Oh! One more thing...our language training supplies came yesterday, and today our tutor called from the MTC, so Monday we begin our tutoring sessions. WOW! The Book of Mormon is titled
KITAB MORMON. The Hymn Book, NYANYIAN ROHANI. Child is anak, and children is anak-anak. Boy is laki, boys...laki-laki, brother (in family) saudara laki-laki. Mother is ibu, father is ayah. So, now we are studying the ERS training books, Preach My Gospel, Jesus the Christ, The Book of Mormon, and Grammar for Indonesia (2 books), Missionary Vocabulary & Phrases, and about 4 other "Task" books. Hey, and we a still VERY excited.
